McLaren Vale Vintage & Classic Charity Dinner
The 2017 Charity Dinner promises to be an exciting night of fine food and wine with plenty of giveaway’s, an auction and a fantastic guest speaker with part proceeds from this evening going to McLaren Vale and District War Memorial Hospital and the local CFS units of McLaren Vale and McLaren Flat.
Our special guest after dinner speaker Alan Jones MBE (born 2 November 1946 in Melbourne, Victoria) is an Australian former Formula One driver.
He was the first driver to win a Formula One World Championship with the Williams team, becoming the 1980 World Drivers’ Champion and the second Australian to do so following triple World Champion Sir Jack Brabham.
He competed in a total of 117 Grands Prix, winning 12 and achieving 24 podium finishes.
In 1978 Jones won the Can-Am championship driving a Lola.
Jones is also the last Australian driver to win the Australian Grand Prix, winning the 1980 event at Calder Park Raceway, having lapped the field consisting mostly of Formula 5000 cars while he was driving his Formula One Championship winning Williams FW07B.
To join Alan Jones for dinner will be one of those experiences you will never forget so book early and avoid disappointment. (subject to Alan‘s ongoing F1 commitments)
The dinner will be held on Saturday 1st April 2017 at 6-30pm in the Serafino Restaurant Complex. You can make bookings of tables of 10 ($950-00) or individually at $100 per head for a three-course meal and all the wine, beer and soft drink included.
